There stands a man. I would not like to call him an old man, for that would be rude. He is standing on a street. A street like any other street in a city full of streets. In his hands are two plastic bags filled with the daily food and household items that we all buy. He is walking slowly with his head down and with a slight limp in his step. This is not a man of means. He is in possession of a meagre amount of money but he manages an existence.
People walk by and ignore him. Cars drive by and the people in them ignore him. He is dressed in a suit that has not been dry cleaned for many years and he is wearing a pair of brogues that bear the scuff marks of a pedestrian. As he walks, he picks up the litter thrown to the ground by other people. He sees a bin and walks towards it and places the dropped debris inside. He carries on walking, shaking his head at the cluttered world that people have created.
He walks along several other streets until he reaches a small, terraced house. The front is tidy, neat and free from rubbish. He approaches the front door and takes out a key. He turns it and walks into his uncluttered, neat and tidy home. He leaves the people who do not notice him behind.
