That is so true. There are so many thing in this world that are suppose to distract us that we never stop for some time with ourselves. Right now I'm listening to some music, the TV is on and I'm just reading blogs. Maybe I should just turn everything off and look for my guitar for some quality time with myself.

Thanks Pete. Thanks Jon.

By saying that they are "a family-owned company" I think they believe people will be more willing to give photos away. I'm not convinced.

It is clear that the company is making money and I have no interest in getting financial gain from the photos I take and it's true that I don't mind people using the pics as long as money isn't made from them which is why I opted for that CC licence.

I'm going to email them back and see what response I get when I ask them for money. I'm not expecting a positive response but as you've said Jon as least they've asked.

I agree with Pete and all the reasons he gave.

You've licensed your image for everything but commercial use so I guess you don'[t mind what happens unless someone is making money. If they're not making money out of your pic they didn't need to ask. If they are then they do, and you presumably you want your cash otherwise you'd have licensed it for commercial use.

I also noticed that if you search flickr there are tonnes of Auckland Harbour photos that are cc licensed for commercial use, so you could send them down that route.

http://www.flickr.com/search/?l=comm&ss=0&ct=0&q=Auckland+Harbour

The good news is that they asked and didn't steal :)
